My girl…because a momma’s allowed to be proud….

These photos were NOT taken by me. These are from www.silverswanphotography.ca . They were taken during Dance Inspirations 2014 right here in little old Moose Jaw. I was so pleased to finally be able to have photos taken during a performance. We can do posed images and these are fun as are some action shots. But there is nothing like the real thing…that emotion and energy that can only be captured at a real live performance or competition. So I am forever in your debt, Silver Swan! And so I can’t help but share a few of these fantastic images that you captured for our family.

The Nutcracker - Moose Jaw Dance Photography

Since we just finished up our last Moose Jaw dance competition for this year, Dance Inspirations 2014, I thought I should share this little beauty from our studio. I love the story of the Nutcracker…and I think this sweetheart makes the perfect Clara. She danced like a dream in competition! I think we dance moms and dads need to make a plan to create another performance opportunity next year, so that all the families can enjoy each of the these beautiful solos, duos and trios. Wouldn’t that be great to borrow the phenomenal idea of BJ’s dance images…where they raise money for charity and host a one evening performance for the routines that are not included in the recital. Maybe a few weeks before Carnival? Just a thought, let me know if you are a Doris Sitter School of Dance parent and might be interested in helping me organize something like this for 2015! In the meantime…enjoy this sweet little Clara!

Moose Jaw Dance Photography - Morgan Brown

It is Dance competition season again…one of my favorite times of year. Yes, I must admit, I am living vicariously through my girl. Dance training just wasn’t an option when I was a child. Boy, did I miss out. But at least I get the opportunity to lose myself in dance when I sit in the audience. To me it is just such a breath-taking art. We wanted to challenge Morgan this year with a spanish solo. Not her usual cutesy type of dance. But something that required her to step outside her comfort zone and become someone she isn’t for a few moments. She is still working on the theatrical aspect…I think it takes years to perfect the ability to become your character onstage. But it sure is fun to watch her try. Morgan placed second in her Novice Ballet solo at the Moose Jaw Dance Carnival 2014 and her novice ballet group took 1st place. Can’t wait for this years Dance Inspirations 2014. We have a fantastic line up of adjudicators including…Sean Cheesman, Anthony LoCascio and Rhonda Nychka-Cunningham.

I splurged a little this year and found this fantastic Spanish Tutu on ebay. Gina is in London, England and her tutus ship quickly from China. Gina was super helpful with getting the custom sizing set up with her seamstresses. I think it took about 4-5 weeks from order to arriving on my doorstep here in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. I love the beautiful stitching and the amount of tulle that she uses in her tutus. I will definitely be ordering from her again! Thanks, Gina…we were so pleased.Morgan’s hair ribbon and flowers were made by my good friend, Orsi of OrschicDesigns. If you need a custom made hair piece for your dance competitions or recitals…she is the lady to find, right here in Moose Jaw. See you at the Festival!

Can’t wait for summer - Regina Moose Jaw child photography

I was just looking back through some sessions from the fall….and this little beauty of a photo shoot happened in September and I haven’t yet showed it to you! This little sweetie came to see me for her newborn photographs and yay…came back for her one year old photos. Lucky girl born in August! Love the late summer flowers and colours. You know…I know we all hate the winters here in Saskatchewan. But you can’t deny that it is actually a very pretty place. Especially in summer and autumn. This is one of my favorite times of year. Thanks for choosing me to capture these for you.

Moose Jaw Newborn Photographer - Beautiful Boys…

Back in November, these two precious little men came to visit me all the way from Saskatoon. This family is a special one to our family. Love ya, Nana (she is are most awesome Office Manager). It was so wonderful to watch this special pair get married a few years back and now to get to be a part of their celebration of new life…a treasure! Can you tell I love my job? These two tiny men were such stars in front of the camera. Had to get the hunting image for dad, of course… And got to love those smiles ! Thanks for bringing them all

the way to Moose Jaw and giving me the pleasure of photographing them for you!
